Use of Facilities

Policy


Use of Pitt County Schools facilities is coordinated through the Community Schools and Recreation Department. Utilization of the facilities is regulated by the Pitt County Board of Education. School facilities are available during non-school hours.

Facilities are used for many functions such as
  • Adult classes
  • Plays
  • Public Meetings and Related Events
  • Workshops
  • Reunions

Application Procedure


All individuals and organizations wishing to use the facilities of Pitt County Public Schools must first complete the Application for Use of Facilities form. (These forms will be available in the office of the principal at each school and also in the Community Schools and Recreation office.) Tentative approval is given to the user at the time an application is approved, final approval is given thirty (30) days prior to the date of the anticipated use of the facility.

All applications must be approved by both the principal and the Community Schools and Recreation office. Applications may be returned to the school or to the Community Schools and Recreation office. Following approval of the application, the Community Schools and Recreation office will assign appropriate fees and charges depending on the use category, including special terms or conditions, if any.

Approved copies of the application will be sent to the applicant, the school principal, staff members involved in supervision, and the energy officer. One copy will be kept on file in the Community Schools and Recreation office.

Application Fee


There is a fee of $10/per application to be paid directly to the school or the Community Schools and Recreation

All fees must be paid by the due date listed on the completed application or the activity will be cancelled automatically. Fees should be submitted to the Community Schools and Recreation office.
