  • Eat Smart Move More Walking Challenge

    - For participants of all ages. Program started May 1, 2008. The goal of this walking challenge is to have participants meet the American Heart Association's recommendation of participating in moderate intensity exercise 30 minutes or more per day for five or more days of the week. The first 100 individuals that register and turn in a completed walking log (30 minutes/day at least 5 days/week for four consecutive weeks) will receive a fanny pack with a water bottle holder. All participants reaching the minimum level will be entered into a monthly drawing for prizes. Regardless of level met, all participants should turn in monthly logs for a special drawing to be held at the six month mark.

  • After-School Program 2012-13

    - We will begin accepting will be available on May 1, 2012! We have made pricing changes and also considerable changes to our Part-Time Program. Please make sure you read the Parent Guide, NC State Laws and the Discipline Policy before completing the Application Form. You will be signing statements on the application form stating you have read and understand these documents.

Adult Programs

  • Adult Fitness Program - Summer Program - This six week adult fitness program is designed to serve Pitt County Schools staff members as well as community participants. The program will consist of a variety of fitness class formats. Class will be held at the Pitt County Community Schools & Recreation Complex from June 19 - August 2, 2012, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Fees are $20.00 for Pitt County Schools Staff and $35.00 for Community Participants.   • Adult Fitness Program - Mind & Body Restoration - This two session fitness class is designed to serve Pitt County Schools staff as a way to reduce stress during the End of Grade Testing work week. Class will be held at the Pitt County Community Schools & Recreation Complex on May 22nd and May 24th from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Fees are $5.00 for Pitt County Schools Staff and $10.00 for Community Participants.   • Gentle Yoga - $15.00 Per Session - Gentle Yoga inspired class designed to challenge each participant's flexibility, stamina, and core strength in a safe environment. Class sessions run as follows:

    Session 1 - January 2 - February 20, 2012

    Session 2 - February 24 - April 13, 2012

  • Session 3 - April 16 - May 25, 2012

  • Line Dance - $8.00 Per Person - What a great way to get in shape. This is an aerobically intense line dance class that will surely keep you twisting and turning. Class runs March 28 - May 16, 2012 (Wednesdays) at Pitt County Community Schools & Recreation. Class will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Click here for Registration Form.

SENIOR PROGRAMS

  • Low Impact Aerobics - $Free - Ages 55 and Over

    - Program runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday (continuous) 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. This high energy low impact aerobics class that will increase your endurance, strength and flexibility levels.

    AHOY (Adding Health to Our Years) $Free - Ages 55 and Over

    - Program runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday (continuous) 9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. This class will challenge your balance, flexibility, endurance, and overall strength from a seated and standing position.

    Over 55 Softball and Basketball

    - If you are over 55 and want to play 3-on-3 basketball or softball, there are teams that need you!! Call 902-1977.
