On December 3, 2007, Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation entered into a partnership with the Pitt County Girls Softball League to operate The Zone. The facility provides gym space for basketball, volleyball, pickle ball and indoor instruction for baseball/softball programs, space for after school programs and other activities to be provided by the Community Schools and Recreation Program.
The Zone Facilities include a gym, batting cages, pitching tunnel, meeting space, an arcade and other activity spaces. This facility will be open to the public as follows:
- 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
- By reservation only on Saturdays
- 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday

Birthday Party Packages include a two hour party with pizza, chips, juice boxes, generic party decorations, paper products, set up/clean up and party coordinator to assist with party needs and activities.
