The Pitt County Detention Center is a 404-bed facility constructed in 1993. It houses Federal, State and County inmates, both male and female, who are awaiting trial for who have been sentenced to brief periods of incarceration.
Inmates have access to telephones, canteen, and 24-hour medical services. Inmates with last names beginning with A through J, may be visited on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:40 PM. Inmates with last names K through Z may be visited on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:40 PM. Visitors’ names must be on an approved list provided by the inmate. Visits are limited to 20 minutes.
