- Description: Begin in front of Ayden Elementary School. Walk east on Third Street (toward downtown). Turn around at the Ayden Flower Shop and return to the school.
- Area Characteristics: Sidewalks; Some lighting; Some broken pavement; Curb cuts; Historic old homes
Route 2
- Distance: .25
- Description: Begin at Veteran's Memorial Park, located .5 miles east of Ayden Elementary School. The route is a combination of sidewalks and quite streets around the perimeter of the park.
- Area Characteristics: Sidewalks; Some lighting; Some broken pavement; Curb cuts; Historic old homes; Playground; Picnic shelter; Tennis courts; Volleyball court

- Description: Trail is located behind Ayden Elementary School on Third Street. Trail should be used during non-school hours.
- Area Characteristics: Soft surface; Playground; Baseball field; Picnic shelter

- Description: Trail is located around Liberty Arms Apartments, owned by the Ayden Housing Authority. Site is located just off of Snow Hill Street
- Area Characteristics: Natural surface; Sidewalks; Some lighting
