Pay Your Taxes Online   Pay Your Taxes by Telephone

The Tax Collector Department supervises the timely collection and disposition of taxes and authorized fees and assessments within the County.

The Pitt County Tax Collector Department has joined with Official Payments Corp. to make paying your property taxes faster, easier and more convenient. Click on one of the links above for instructions on how to pay your taxes with your credit card/debit card online or by telephone.

You will be charged a convenience fee for this service. It is paid directly to Official Payments Corporation for your use of this automated service. The convenience fee is not part of your tax and Pitt County receives no portion of the fee.

If at anytime you are accessing the telephone or online payment systems and decide you do not wish to pay the convenience fee, you may exit and all data entered at that point will be erased.


To pay your property taxes online...

Review the following information. Once complete, click on the "Pay Your Taxes Online" link to be taken to the Official Payments Corp. secure web site, and follow the instructions.

You will be asked for your 4-digit jurisdiction code. The jurisdiction code for Pitt County property taxes is 4316.

You will be charged a convenience fee for this service. It is paid directly to Official Payments Corporation for your use of this automated service. The convenience fee is not part of your tax and Pitt County receives no portion of the fee.


Pay Your Taxes Online


To pay your property taxes by telephone...

Call toll-free 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829) to make a payment.

You will be charged a convenience fee for this service. It is paid directly to Official Payments Corporation for your use of this automated service. This fee is not part of your tax and Pitt County does not receive the convenience fee.

The process is simple. The average phone call takes only three to four minutes. Here's how a call to pay your property taxes will work.

  • Have your credit card ready
  • Use your touch-tone phone to call toll-free 1-800-272-9829
  • You will be asked to enter the following information on your touch tone telephone:
    • Your 4-digit jurisdiction code. The jurisdiction code for Pitt County property taxes is 4316. Enter 4-3-1-6 using your telephone keypad. You will then hear the terms and conditions for making a payment to Pitt County.
    • The amount you want to pay in whole dollars $ _ _ _, _ _ _. You will be informed of the convenience fee charged for this payment amount. Press 1 to continue with your payment or press the *(star) key to cancel.
    • Your credit card number ________________________________________
    • Your credit card's expiration date _ _/_ _
    • Your ZIP code where your credit card bills are sent _ _ _ _ _
    • At the end of the call you will be given a confirmation number. Please write this number down and save it for your records. __________________
  • When paying by telephone, please allow two business days for your payment to be credited to your account.
