The"Alert Me" System

In 2005 Pitt County introduced the ALERTsystem. The ALERTsystem allows Pitt County Emergency Management to alert citizens when emergency needs arise. The system uses established telephone numbers linked to local addresses to call affected areas. However, many people are switching from traditional telephones to cell phones or internet (IP) phones. Currently, these telephone numbers are not linked to a local address. With the Alert Me system, citizens can submit their alternate phone numbers so they can receive these important messages.

If you are interested in this feature, follow the following link to enter your alternate phone number. After confirmation, Pitt County Emergency Management will be able to notify you when the need arises.
