Cooperative Extension Service

The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service is an out-of-school approach to extend the technology and research of North Carolina State University and A&T State University. It is cooperatively funded and managed by the county, state, and federal governments, providing information on subjects such as:

  • Youth

  • Lawn and tree care
  • Leadership development

4-H activities are available through clubs, camps, and special interest activities.

Pitt County Arboretum

The arboretum is an outdoor gardening and landscaping program of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension in Pitt County. The arboretum is made of over 18 gardens that demonstrate what can easily be done in eastern North Carolina Landscapes. The Pitt County Arboretum is located at:
