Ordinance Information


Pitt County’s Building Codes Enforcement Ordinance (PDF) has been updated and became effective on January 1, 2015.  Updates to the ordinance were made to reflect current North Carolina Laws as well as existing practices and policies of the Pitt County Inspections Department and Permitting Center.


Posting Requirements


Building Permit Cards and a copy of the approved set of plans will be required to be posted on site and accessible to Building Inspectors until final inspections have been completed and approved.


Inspection Fee Report

 

As required by NC State Law 2022-11 and in accordance with General Statute 160D-402(d) every local government shall publish an annual financial report on how it used fees from the prior fiscal year for the support, administration, and implementation of its building code enforcement program.
