Trillium Health Resources Overview

Pitt County is a member County of the Trillium Health Resources coverage area. Trillium Health Resources is a local governmental agency (Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization - LME/MCO) designated by the NC Department of Health & Human Services to manage mental health, substance use and intellectual/developmental disability services in a 24-county area in eastern North Carolina. Their responsibility is to connect individuals and families to the help they need when they need it. They are responsible for managing state and federally funded services for people who receive Medicaid, are uninsured or cannot afford services.   

Trillium does not provide direct care. Instead, Trillium partners with agencies and licensed therapists in its Provider Network to offer services and supports to people in need in or near their own communities. They ensure the delivery of the right services, in the right amount, at the right time.  They also work collaboratively with local non-profits, other governmental agencies, medical providers, and hospitals to create a holistic system of total patient care that recognizes all needs of an individual.

Areas Served

The counties that comprise the Trillium area include Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Martin, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington Counties.

Eligibility

Trillium is responsible for Medicaid, under-insured and indigent care. Additionally, Trillium responds to all behavioral health crisis calls.
