  3. Emergency Services

    Pitt County Emergency Management consists of four divisions that coordinate emergency services for residents.

  4. Flood Insurance

    The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is a federal program enabling property owners in participating communities to purchase insurance as a protection against flood losses in exchange for State and community floodplain management regulations that reduce future flood damages.

  5. Medical Services

    The mission of the division is dually focused on maintenance of the “County EMS System Plan”, support of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) during storms or other incidents, and the operation of a county government based service program.

  6. Mental Health

    East Carolina Behavioral Health (ECBH) is a Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization (LME/MCO) designated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services to oversee the appropriate provision of state and federally-funded services and supports in 19 counties throughout northeastern North Carolina.

  7. Sewage Disposal

    Sites are evaluated for their suitability to dispose of sewage in a safe and sanitary manner.

  8. Stormwater Management

    During 2000, the Environmental Management Commission (EMC) adopted a set of nonpoint source rules under the Tar-Pamlico Nutrient Sensitive Waters Strategy.
