GIS & Addressing
The Planning Department utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create and maintain map layers or files of Pitt County. GIS programs such as ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcExplorer, ArcIMS and ArcGIS are the software programs being utilized for mapping and analysis.
Pitt County Community Development, a division of the Planning Department, offers programs that rebuild and repair homes for lower-income citizens.
As of April 1, 2013, North Carolina law requires that an owner or general contractor appoint a lien agent for improvements to real property.

Recycling & Waste Pickup
Pitt County operates 14 Collection and Recycling Centers in the unincorporated areas of the County which may be used by any citizen to dispose of residential waste and recycle their recyclables.
