2045 Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update

Planning staff, in cooperation with the Transportation Planning Division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the Greenville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Mid-East Rural Planning Organization, are updating the Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the County.  A Comprehensive Transportation Plan is a long-range planning document that will assist in making transportation decisions for the next 25-30 years and is required by NC General Statute 136-66.2.

A Steering Committee was formed in September 2020 and monthly meetings are held to provide updates and input on the plan.  In the spring of 2021, a public input survey was conducted and had just under 1,800 participants.  Public workshops have been scheduled to give the public an opportunity to provide input and comments on the draft document:

  • Monday, November 14, 2022 (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) - Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation (4561 County Home Road, Greenville)
  • Thursday, November 17, 2022 (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) - North Pitt High School Cafeteria (5659 NC 11 North, Bethel)

For those unable to attend either session, a virtual information session is available and comments can be submitted online.
