Business:

1. Consider Early Voting plan for 2025 Municipal Elections: The meeting was called in response to complaints about the early voting plan adopted on July 31. Jeff Blick made a motion to reconsider the plan. This opened the floor for Board members to debate the issue. Members discussed the availability of sites then and now, the laws that must be adhered to (NCGS 163-166.35, State Board of Elections memorandum 2020-13, and municipal agreements), turnout and expenses of previous municipal elections, and the complaints received. After approximately 30 minutes of discussion Etsil Mason called for question. Upon immediate vote, the motion failed. As a result, the plan adopted on July 31 stands.

The Board adjourned.
