  1. Computer Technology Awareness (Initial Class Session)

    Do you need to update your technology skills and become more familiar with computer technology? Learn the basics of how to operate a personal computer and become more familiar with Microsoft Word software in order to enhance your professional skills. This class meets every Monday and Wednesday morning for four weeks. In addition to being free those who are unemployed, this class is also free for people who are working but have received notice of an upcoming layoff; or qualify for the federal earned income credit; or have a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Currently, 200% of the federal poverty guidelines are $24,280 for 1-person households, $32,920 for 2-person households, $41,560 for 3-person households, and $50,200 for 4-person households. Larger households have larger guidelines.

  6. L.I.F.E. STRIVE Class Orientation

    L.I.F.E. STRIVE class is an intense process in which difficult to employ individuals are taught the skills necessary to seek gainful employment and to become productive members of the workforce. Each cycle starts with an orientation and then lasts the next four weeks with a graduation on the last day. Emphasizing responsibility, communication, and self-sufficiency, the entire training takes place in a simulated work environment. and that’s not the end of the road, An extensive follow-up system is used to provide post-placement support. STRIVE actively maintains contact with graduates for at least two years to address any problems that occur.
