NORTH CAROLINA AGRICULTURE

COST SHARE FUNDS ARE

AVAILABLE

Pitt County Soil & Water Conservation District expects to receive approximately $60,000 for the 2022 NC Agriculture Cost Share Program from the state for non-point source pollution control from agricultural activities.  These funds are available to assist farmers and landowners to install conservation practices, which help decrease the amount of sediment, nitrogen, phosphorus, chemicals and other pollutants in the surface and ground waters of the state.

Since the inception of the cost share program, staff from the district has installed over $3,800,000.00 in conservation practices throughout Pitt County. These practices have helped improve water quality and soil productivity within the County.

Landowners and operators must apply for cost share assistance to install conservation practices such as no till, grassed waterways, field borders, cropland conversion, animal waste management, water control structures, and many more.

If you would like more information or wish to apply for funds, just call our District office at (252) 902-1746 or stop by our office. We can schedule a field visit with our conservation specialist to discuss solutions for protecting our waters in the Tar-Pamlico and Neuse River Basins.
