Pitt County Board of County Commissioners Update
Commissioners sworn in and new officers named
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – The Oaths of Office for reelected and new Pitt County Board of County Commissioners were issued at the December 5, 2022 meeting. Additionally, the Board named a new Chair and Vice-Chair.
Kimberly Hines, Clerk to the Board, issued the oaths to Ann Floyd Huggins, District 1; Mary Perkins-Williams, District 2; and Lauren White, District 6.
Judge Brian Desoto, District Court 3A, issued the oaths to Benji Holloman, District 4; Christopher Nunnally, District 3; and Mark Smith, District 5.
Following the ceremony, the Board appointed Mary Perkins-Williams Chairwoman and Christopher Nunnally Vice-Chairman for a one-year term.
“Humbly, I accepted the respect of the nomination and am pleased that the Pitt County Board of Commissioners felt the need and graciously elected me as its Chair at this time in our history. I look forward to working with and leading all of us to greater success for the residents and businesses of Pitt County as we work toward becoming Leader in the State, Best in the East,” says Chairwoman Mary Perkins-Williams.
“I am excited about working with our returning commissioners and new arrivals this year. We have a wonderful team at the county and I am honored to be able to serve the residents of Pitt County for another term,” says Vice-Chairman Chris Nunnally.
