NOTICE OF HEARINGS

Pitt County Zoning Map Amendments


The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings on Monday, May 15, 2023, at or after 6:00 pm in the Eugene James Auditorium in the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. to consider the following requests:

  • Rezoning request by Environmental Resource Management to rezone 6.04 acres of property owned by Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. from Rural Agricultural (RA) to Light Industrial (Conditional District) (LI(CD)) to allow an “energy reliability center” which will house natural gas pressurization equipment.  The subject property is identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel Number 22676, and is located at the southern side of NC 102 East, west of its intersection with SR 1800 (Leary Mills Road) in the Chicod Township.  
  • Rezoning request by Susan Martin to rezone 3.71 acres of property owned by Donald A. Speight, Alicia Speight Hawk and Matthew P. Hawk from Rural Agricultural (RA) to General Commercial (Conditional District) (GC(CD)) to allow the operation of a park & ride airport shuttle service.  The subject property is identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel Number 02618, and is located on the southwestern side of SR 1515 (Alexander Brown Road), south of its intersection with NC 11 North in the Bethel Township.
