NOTICE OF HEARINGS

Pitt County Subdivision Ordinance Text Amendments

 

The Pitt County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at or after 5:30 pm in the Eugene James Auditorium in the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. to consider the following requests for text amendments to the Pitt County Subdivision Ordinance:

  • Request by Pitt County to amend the approval process for major preliminary plats.  The Ordinance currently requires approval of preliminary plats by the Planning Board.   The amendment as proposed will give authority to the Technical Review Committee to approve major preliminary plats.

The purpose of these public hearings is to gather public comment and input on the proposed requests prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.  Citizens interested in obtaining additional information on these requests should contact the Pitt County Planning Department at (252) 902-3250.  Those persons unable to attend the hearings may send written questions or comments via email to the Clerk to the Board at tab.auten@pittcountync.gov or by mailing to: Clerk to the Board, Pitt County Planning Department, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. 27834.  All meetings can be viewed by the public on PittTV (Optimum TV Channel 13) or the Pitt County YouTube channel (www.YouTube.com/PittCountyNC).
