NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pitt County Zoning Map Amendment

 

The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 26, 2023, at or after 6:00 pm in the Eugene James Auditorium in the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. to consider the following request:

  • Rezoning request by George Lee Shaver, Jr. to rezone 12.8 acres of property owned by George T. and Claudia B. Savage from Rural Agricultural (RA) to Rural Agricultural (Conditional District) (RA(CD)) to allow “Oversized Vehicle Parking (Commercial)”.  The subject properties are identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel Numbers 16993 and 78623, and are located on the southern side of SR 1125 (Pocosin Road), west of its intersection with SR 1124 (Speight Seed Farm Road) in the Winterville Township.  

The purpose of this public hearing is to gather public comment and input on the proposed request prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.  Citizens interested in obtaining additional information on this request should contact the Pitt County Planning Department at (252) 902-3250.  Those persons unable to attend the hearing may send written questions or comments via email to the Clerk to the Board at Kimberly.Hines@pittcountync.gov or by mailing to: Clerk to the Board, Pitt County, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. 27834.  All meetings can be viewed by the public on PittTV (Optimum TV Channel 13) or the Pitt County YouTube channel (www.YouTube.com/PittCountyNC).
