[ARCHIVED] Pitt County Subdivision Ordinance Text Amendments

NOTICE OF HEARINGS

Pitt County Subdivision Ordinance Text Amendments

The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 26, 2023, at or after 6:00 pm in the Eugene James Auditorium in the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. to consider the following requests for text amendments to the Pitt County Subdivision Ordinance:

  • Request by Pitt County to amend the approval process for major preliminary plats and to make other procedural and clarification changes.  The Ordinance currently requires approval of preliminary plats by the Planning Board.  The amendment as proposed will give authority to the Technical Review Committee to approve major preliminary plats.  Another proposed amendment will allow an appeal to be considered by the Board of Adjustment rather than the Board of Commissioners.

The purpose of this public hearing is to gather public comment and input on the proposed request prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.  Citizens interested in obtaining additional information on this request should contact the Pitt County Planning Department at (252) 902-3250.  Those persons unable to attend the hearing may send written questions or comments via email to the Clerk to the Board at Kimberly.Hines@pittcountync.gov or by mailing to: Clerk to the Board, Pitt County, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C. 27834.  All meetings can be viewed by the public on PittTV (Optimum TV Channel 13) or the Pitt County YouTube channel (www.YouTube.com/PittCountyNC).
