Pitt County Financial Report Recognized with Award by GFOA
Certificate of Excellence awarded to Pitt County for 33rd consecutive year
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – At the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Monday, September 11, 2023, Pitt County Manager, Janis Gallagher announced the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recognized Pitt County Financial Services with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 33rd consecutive year.
The GFOA has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Pitt County for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The award is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“I am proud that Pitt County has received this award for 33 consecutive years and the dedication of Pitt County’s Financial Services Department,” says Sam Croom, Deputy County Manager/Chief Financial Officer.
