Pitt County Supports Operation Green Light for Veterans
Pitt County Courthouse to be illuminated green the week of Veterans Day
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – The Pitt County Board Commissioners’ proclamation supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans (OGL) was announced at their Monday, October 16 meeting. With designation as a Green Light for Veterans County, Pitt County declares from October through Veterans Day, November 11, a time to salute and honor the service and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform transitioning from active service; and to honor those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom by illuminating the Pitt County Courthouse, located at 100 West 3rd Street, Greenville, N.C., green the week November 6-12, 2023.
“Pitt County has the utmost gratitude for all the men and women who selflessly served our country and this community in the Armed Forces. We appreciate the courage and acts of bravery and heroism of our United States military personnel as they have been vital in maintaining the freedoms and way of life enjoyed by our citizens,” says Janis Gallagher, Pitt County Manager.
Pitt County encourages all counties, municipalities and residents to recognize OGL by displaying a green light in a window of their place of business or residence November 6-12, 2023.
