[ARCHIVED] Pitt County Service Impacts From Expected Winter Weather

With a threat of severe winter weather and increased confidence in a significant amount of snowfall forecasted for our region, several Pitt County departments will be closing or modifying their service schedules for Saturday, January 7, 2017. Currently affected departs and services are:

Pitt County Animal Services

• Pitt County Animal Shelter will be closed for Saturday, January 7, 2017

Pitt Area Transit (PATS)

• Transportation Services suspended for Saturday, January 7, 2017

Pitt County Solid Waste and Recycling

• Transfer Station will be closed for Saturday, January 7, 2017

ALL Recycling Collection sites will be closed for Saturday, January 7, 2017

 

In addition, Pitt County has activated the Emergency Information page of our website to provide the most up-to-date information on closings, delays or other impacts to County services. During the winter event expected throughout this weekend, the public is encouraged to check this page regularly. It can be accessed by clicking the “Alert” banner at the top of our website, or by going directly to www.pittcountync.gov/snow.

The Emergency Information page also contains important safety information related home heating, personal health and pet safety.
