National EMS Week is a full, seven day week set aside to honor the dedicated individuals who serve our community by providing the “front line” of medical treatment and transport during times of acute and mass emergencies. Scheduled for May 21-27, 2017, Pitt County Emergency Management and its Medical Services division have scheduled a variety of activities and efforts to both honor and bring community awareness of our dedicated Emergency Medical Personnel. Efforts throughout the week will include the following:
Banners: 6’ wide vinyl banners promoting National EMS Week will be displayed at the entrances to the County Offices at 1717 West 5th Street, and the North Pitt EMS Station, located at 5639 NC Hwy 11 N, Bethel 27812.
Website/Social Media: The home page of the Pitt County website will feature a special banner announcing National EMS Week, as well as a page dedicated to the week’s recognitions at www.pittcountync.gov/EMSweek. Additionally, the Pitt County Twitter and Flickr pages will feature updates containing information and photos related to the week’s activities. The Pitt County Twitter ID is @PittCountyNC, and the Flickr page can be found atflickr.com/pittcountygovernment.
“Thank You” PSA: The Pitt County Office of Public Information has produced a 30 second PSA, thanking our dedicated Emergency Medical Services personnel. The PSA will air on PittTv (Suddenlink Cable channel 13) and the Pitt County YouTube channel at the following link:https://youtu.be/Qht5Un8xdeo.
Media Opportunity: On Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 10:00am-11:00am, Pitt County Emergency Management supervisors and medical staff will be available for an interview opportunity to all interested media. Interviews will be provided at the North Pitt EMS Station, 5639 NC Hwy 11 N, Bethel 27812.
