NOTICE
OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Pitt County Board of Health hereby gives notice, pursuant to N.C. General Statute §130A-39, of the proposed repeal of the existing Board of Health rule titled Rabies Postexposure Management of
Dogs and Cats that was adopted on September 13, 2016. The existing rule established the recommendations and guidelines for rabies postexposure management of dogs and cats specified by the National Association of the State Public Health Veterinarians in the 2016 edition of the Compendium of Animal control measures. The Board will consider repeal of their existing rule since the amendment of N.C. General Statute §130A-197 will supersede the local rule.

materials will be available for viewing at the Pitt County Health Department,
201 Government Circle, Greenville, North Carolina.
The Board will consider the repeal of the existing rule, hear from interested citizens, and may take action on the proposed rule repeal at its meeting on October 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the conference room of the Pitt County Health Department, 201 Government Circle, Greenville, North Carolina. The Board may act on the proposal to repeal the rule at that meeting with an immediate effective date, or may choose to defer action until a later meeting.
