Due to clarifications from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, as of April 2018, heating* and cooling bills that include other utilities, such as water, sewage and garbage collection, will no longer be paid in full with Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) funds. An itemized bill will need to be obtained.
Recipients are responsible for paying the portions of the bill other than the heating and cooling costs, prior to CIP funds being approved. These other portions can include (but are not limited to) water, sewage, and trash collection.
For more information on the Crisis Intervention Program, its available funds, or how those funds are used, call Pitt County Social Services at 252-902-1110.
