On Sunday October 7, 2018, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 1801 S. Elm Street in Greenville, will hold their annual Blessing of the Animals event, as part of their celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. A drive-thru blessing will be available at 2:30pm as an added convenience for those in need of assistance, with a traditional service scheduled for 3:00pm, during a gathering on the lawn.
Once again, Pitt County Animal Services (PCAS) is partnering with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in participation of this year’s Blessing event, and will be onsite to collect freewill donations of money or pet supplies. Donations will go to benefit the Pitt County Animal Shelter, as well as the Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter (i.e. “Pitt Friends”), a 501(c)3 non-profit group that works to provide the Shelter with euthanasia alternatives for animals currently housed in their care.
The event is free and attendance is open to the public, regardless of whether you or not you have a pet. For more information on the event itself, or Pitt County Animal Services In general, those interested can call PCAS at 252-902-1725.
