On February 15, 2019, Pitt County Animal Services (PCAS) was notified by the PetCo Foundation, that it had been selected as the recipient of a $15,000 Investment Grant from the Foundation. On Friday, March 22, 2019, at 2:00pm, a special check presentation ceremony will be held at the local PetCo store, located in the University Commons Shopping center at 3060 S Evans St, Greenville, NC 27834. All media, members of the public, and supporters of the pet population in the community are invited to attend this event.
The PetCo Foundation works to empower organizations that are the most productive and effective in their work with the local animal population; who work with a relentless determination to succeed. The Foundation invests in those organizations through a process that involves the evaluation and assessment of them alongside their peers. The lifesaving Investments are made possible through Petco customer donations raised in Petco stores, which average around $2 per person. Petco store partners combine the small contributions into large investment opportunities, which reaches approximately $30 million in investment support distributed annually!
The funds received through this investment grant will go towards the continued lifesaving efforts of PCAS; with specific focus on spay/neutering operations for the animals in their care.
