Effective June 10, 2019 at 5:00pm, Pitt County Emergency Management and NC Forestry Service Officials will rescind the County-wide burning ban for Pitt County.
In effect since May 30, 2019, the ban was established due to extremely dry weather conditions that increased the threat of outdoor vegetation related fire.
Based on the recent weather conditions, the threat of increased outdoor related fire has been reduced. All residents are encouraged to maintain safety precautions during any fire-related activity. As always, PCEM will work with all partnering agencies to monitor weather and fire conditions.
