The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 23, 2019 at or after 6:00pm regarding a request for a Conditional Use Permit. This hearing will be held in the Eugene James Auditorium on the second floor of the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, NC.
The Pitt County Planning Department is in receipt of a petition from B.E. Singleton & Sons, Inc. requesting a Conditional Use Permit for the operation of a “sand mine” on property owned by CMBH Holdings, LLC, and a portion of properties owned by Shirley C. Whisenant Life Estate as required in the Rural Agricultural district. The subject properties are identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel Numbers 49803, 77202, and 77203, located on the eastern side of SR 1565 (N. Grimesland Bridge Road) south of its intersection with SR 1563 (Sticks Road). The subject property is 69.40 acres. The purpose of the public hearing is to gather public comment and input on the Conditional Use Permit Request prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners.
