Beginning October 21, 2019, the Pitt County Health Department, located at 201 Government Circle, Greenville, will begin providing Walk-In flu immunizations. No appointments are required during these select times. Walk-In flu shots will be provided on a first come, first served basis as follows:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 8:30am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 4:30pm
- Tuesdays: 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2:00pm – 4:30pm
Please Note: Walk-In flu immunizations will not be available on Fridays; however, appointments can be made for this service on Fridays by calling 252-902-2449.
The Health Department will honor Medicare Part B, Medicaid, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and MedCost. Insurance cards must be presented at time of immunization. Flu immunizations will also be available at no cost for children who are eligible for the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. Children, through 18 years of age, who are either enrolled in Medicaid or eligible for the Medicaid program; or children, who are underinsured or who have no medical insurance coverage, are eligible for the VFC Program. For all other individuals, there is a $32.00 charge to receive the flu immunization.
The Health Department is also offering the pneumonia immunization during these established Walk-In hours. Individuals, who request the pneumonia immunization, will be assessed by a nurse to determine which vaccine is recommended according to the individual’s age and other criteria. The cost of the pneumonia vaccine varies depending upon which vaccine is needed.
