NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSAL TO ALTER BOUNDARY LINES FOR AYDEN RURAL FIRE SERVICE DISTRICT, BLACK JACK FIRE SERVICE DISTRICT, AND EASTERN PINES FIRE SERVICE DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Eugene James Auditorium, in the Pitt County Office Building, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, North Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019.
The purpose of the public hearing is to hear the views of residents of Pitt County on the proposal to alter the boundaries of three fire service districts. Those three fire service districts are Ayden Rural Fire Service District, Black Jack Fire Service District, and Eastern Pines Fire Service District. Under this proposal boundary lines will be altered so that 44 parcels of real property currently in the Black Jack Fire Service District and 16 parcels of real property currently in the Eastern Pines Fire Service District would be transferred into the Ayden Rural Fire Service District. A report containing information relating to this proposal, including maps showing both the current boundary lines and proposed boundary lines, may be viewed in the Office of the Clerk to the Board, in the Pitt County Office Building, 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, North Carolina during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Also, interested citizens may contact Pitt County Emergency Management at 252-902-3950, during regular business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm., Monday through Friday.
Following the public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners will consider the adoption of a resolution approving this proposal and altering these boundary lines effective July 1, 2020.
