On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, prior to the 9th regular COVID-19 Media Session, Pitt County and all 10 of its municipalities joined together in signing a multi-jurisdictional message concerning Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
The message was unanimously signed by the jurisdictions of Pitt County, Ayden, Bethel, Falkland, Farmville, Fountain, Greenville, Grifton, Grimesland, Simpson, and Winterville. It affirms that all are “facing unprecedented times as our communities, state, and nation address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,” The statement goes further to note that “Pitt County and its municipalities are subject to and are taking very seriously the Governor’s executive ‘Stay-at-Home` Order, in order to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus.”
The statement will be formally announced during the COVID-19 media session today (Thursday), as part of the County Manager’s prepared statements. It will serve as yet another show of the County-wide unified front, from all jurisdictions within Pitt County, in a joint response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
