[ARCHIVED] PUBLIC NOTICE: Conditional Use Permit Request: Fresh Air Energy XI, LLC

The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a virtual quasi-judicial hearing on Monday, August 17, 2020 at or after 6:00pm regarding a request for a Conditional Use Permit.  This hearing will be held in the Eugene James Auditorium on the second floor of the County Administration Building located at 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville, N.C.

 

The Pitt County Planning Department is in receipt of a petition from Fresh Air Energy XI, LLC requesting a Conditional Use Permit for the operation of a Solar Energy Facility (i.e., “solar farm”) as required in the Rural Agricultural district.  The subject properties are identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel 18643 owned by Thomas and Trudy Tyson, located on SR 1911 (Brown Hodges Road) at its intersection with SR 1913 (Jack Quinerly Road); and a portion of Parcel 10521 owned by Marian Nelson McLawhorn, located on the northern side of NC 118, west of its intersection with SR 2227 (Stokestown-St. Johns Road).  The subject properties are a combined total of 681.59 acres, of which 297.0 acres are proposed to be utilized for the solar farm.  Citizens interested in obtaining additional information on the proposed Conditional Use Permit should contact the Pitt County Planning Department at (252-902-3250).


This is an evidentiary hearing and will be conducted using quasi-judicial procedures.  The purpose of the hearing is to gather facts and evidence about the Conditional Use Permit request prior to consideration by the Board of Commissioners.  In-person attendance at the hearing will be limited and virtual participation will also be allowed.  Those wishing to participate virtually may call the Clerk to the Board at (252) 902-2950 up to two hours prior to the hearing to receive instructions on how to access the meeting.
