The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 11 2021, at or after 6:00 pm regarding a proposed Map Amendment (Rezoning) to the Pitt County Zoning Map. This meeting will be held Virtually. All meetings can be viewed by the public on PittTv (Suddenlink Cable Channel 13), the Pitt County YouTube channel (www.YouTube.com/PittCountyNC), or one of the official Pitt County Facebook pages. The Pitt County Planning Department is in receipt of a petition from O’neil J. Otero and Saskia Marcano requesting that their property be rezoned from Rural Residential (RR) to General Commercial (GC(CD)) to operate an office and repair garage/shop for a refuse material hauling business (Express Waste Removal) and tax preparation services office. The subject property is identified by the Tax Assessor’s Office as Parcel Number 02363, and is located on the western side of NC 43 South, north of its intersection with SR 1733 (B. Stokes Road) in the Chicod Township. The subject property is 2.86 acres in total, 1.99 of which is proposed for rezoning. The purpose of the public hearing is to gather public comment and input on the proposed amendment (Rezoning) prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners. Those persons unable to attend the hearing virtually may submit written questions or comments to the Clerk to the Board before the meeting. Written comments may also be submitted up to 24 hours after the public hearing.
