(Pitt County) – Effective today, January 14, 2021, Pitt County Health Department will begin offering an online wait list option for individual ages 75 years and older who would like to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This wait list option can be accessed at www.pittcountync.gov/COVIDWaitlist. Individuals can also access this wait list through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response Information Page at www.pittcountync.gov/CORONAVIRUS. This new service will be available daily, 24/7.
This option will better serve our community by alleviating the recent overwhelming number of phone calls to the Health Department’s COVID-19 Hotline. This wait list is not and does not guarantee an appointment. Individuals, who are placed on the wait list, will be called and given an appointment as soon as vaccine is available. The Health Department receives vaccine once each week, but the allotment and the day of arrival varies from week to week.
Public Health realizes that not every senior will have access to internet and many may need assistance with being added to the wait list. Beginning today, January 14, 2021 at 1:00pm, Pitt County will implement an expanded call center. This center will take calls from seniors who need assistance with signing up. This service will be available Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm, excluding holidays. The phone number to request assistance is 252-902-2300, Selection 7.
This expanded call center will not take the place of the Health Department’s COVID-19 Hotline. Community members, who have general COVID-19 related questions, should continue to call the COVID-19 Hotline at 252-902-2300, Selection 4. The COVID-19 Hotline is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm, excluding holidays.
