The Pitt County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 15, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. regarding the proposed NC 43 South Land Use Plan and a subsequent amendment to the 2030 Pitt County Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This meeting will be held Virtually. All meetings can be viewed by the public on PittTv (Suddenlink Cable Channel 13), the Pitt County YouTube channel (www.YouTube.com/PittCountyNC), or one of the official Pitt County Facebook pages. Members of the public can also call the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners at (252) 902-2950 for instructions on how to participate virtually or to gain access to a listen-only option.
Pitt County, in collaboration with the City of Greenville, the Greenville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the NC Department of Transportation, has developed a land use plan that will help guide future growth and development along the NC 43 South highway corridor. The purpose of this public hearing is to gather public comment and input on the proposed NC 43 South Land Use Plan prior to consideration by the Board of County Commissioners. Additionally, in order to avoid conflicting land use policies within the study area of the NC 43 South Land Use Plan, the Board will consider an amendment to the official Future Land Use Map in the 2030 Pitt County Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
The final draft of the NC 43 South Land Use Plan is available for review at www.pittcountync.gov/NC43SouthPlan.
