[ARCHIVED] Pitt County Seeking Public Input for New Land Use Plan

PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Pitt County staff will be conducting several public visioning workshops for “Envision Pitt County 2045”, a new comprehensive land use plan that will guide future growth and development within the County.

The workshops will be an opportunity for members of the public to provide input on topics such as land use, transportation, housing, community character, economic development, recreation, and natural assets within Pitt County.

The public input workshops will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 19, 2022 at D.H. Conley High School
  • Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Ayden-Grifton High School
  • Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Farmville Central High School
  • Thursday, June 9, 2022 at North Pitt High School

Additionally, an online public survey is available on the project website: www.EnvisionPittCounty2045.com.  The survey will be open through June 15, 2022.

“The purpose of the survey is to provide insight into the type of development that residents and other stakeholders would like to see, and to provide valuable input regarding the strengths, opportunities, and challenges within Pitt County,” says Eric Gooby, AICP, Senior Planner, Planning Department.

The planning process for the new plan is expected to continue through the end of 2022.
