$18 Million to Support Opioid Response
Funds secured in 2021 from drug makers and distributors through the National Opioid Settlement are being used to expand access to naloxone (Narcan), support treatment and prevention programs, and raise awareness about opioid misuse.
Pitt County and Greenville leaders are working with residents to decide how best to invest in prevention, treatment, and recovery. The state has identified 12 strategies eligible for funding, and Pitt County currently supports six: collaborative and strategic planning, two evidence-based treatment programs, a re-entry program, early intervention, naloxone distribution, and syringe exchange services.
