Free Family Event Promotes Seasonal Safety and Supports Local Charity
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 p.m., Emergency Management and Cultural Arts & Recreation will host the annual Holiday Safety Fair at the Alice F. Keene District Park, located at 4561 County Home Road in Greenville, N.C. Typical participating partners include local fire departments, Pitt County EMS, and community safety organizations. Vendor and partner listings are posted each year as confirmed.
The event encourages residents to learn seasonal safety tips while giving back to the community. Attendees are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to support children and families served by the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina.
Donations are optional and not required but are appreciated if you are able to contribute.
Jolly, Safe, and Bright: Your Guide to the Holiday Safety Fair
The Holiday Safety Fair is an annual community event featuring demonstrations from first responders, family activities, and helpful tips to keep households safe during the holidays. Admission is free and open to the public.
What to Expect
- Photo opportunity with Santa in his “Sant-Ambulance”
- First Responders Up Close: Explore fire, EMS, and public safety vehicles through “Touch-A-Truck” style displays.
- Safety Demonstrations & Tips: Learn about home heating, cooking, holiday lighting, candles, smoke alarms, generator use, and pet safety during the colder months.
- Family Activities: Petting zoo, arts and crafts, and seasonal photo opportunities.
- Food & Beverages: Local vendors (such as coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks) may be available for purchase.
- Community Giving (Optional): Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support local families through the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC. Donations are welcome but not required.
