Honoring the History & Culture of African Americans

Black History Month is a time for reflection, learning, and recognition. The month highlights the history, culture, and lasting contributions of African Americans who have shaped communities, strengthened our society and advanced progress at all levels. This celebration recognizes artists, civil rights leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, inventors, public servants, scientists and veterans whose service and work have improved lives and helped build stronger communities. The observance also encourages ongoing conversations that support understanding, inclusion and shared community.
