Pitt County has operated under the County Manager form of government since 1970. Serving at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners, the County Manager is responsible for hiring staff, meeting regularly with department and agency leaders, and ensuring the Board’s goals and objectives are effectively carried out in service to the community.
