Guiding Principles and Procedures
The following By-Laws govern the structure, membership, meetings, and responsibilities of the Pitt County Human Relations Commission (HRC). These rules are adopted to guide the Commission in fulfilling its mission to promote inclusiveness, acceptance, and appreciation among all residents of Pitt County. The By-Laws outline the organization’s purpose, authority, officer roles, and committee functions, and ensure that the HRC operates in alignment with applicable policies of the Pitt County Board of Commissioners. These By-Laws were last updated and adopted on January 11, 2021.
By-Laws may be amended by submission of the proposed amendments to the Chair at least ten (10) business days prior to a regular meeting. The amendment shall be approved by a majority of the membership.
