The Health Department offers a wide range of clinical services to support the health and well-being of individuals and families across our community. Services are provided in a respectful, confidential, and person-centered environment, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. From childhood immunizations to reproductive health, screenings, and prenatal support, we deliver quality care that meets the needs of our residents.

Prevention Through Vaccination & Education
The Health Department helps reduce the spread of infectious diseases through education, prevention and vaccination. These efforts protect everyone. Common illnesses prevented include hepatitis, whooping cough, salmonella, shigella and other diseases spread through close contact or contaminated food and water.
The department provides a full range of routine and recommended vaccines for adults and children, following CDC guidelines to reduce risk and prevent vaccine-preventable diseases.

Adult Vaccines
Available vaccines for adults include:
- Flu: Seasonal influenza
- Hepatitis A and B: Viral liver infections
- Meningococcal: Bacterial infections such as meningitis
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Three contagious diseases
- Pneumonia: Pneumococcal infections
- Rabies (Pre & Post-Exposure): For individuals at higher risk due to work or travel
- Tetanus: Infections from cuts and wounds
- Varicella (Chickenpox): Chickenpox and related complications
Children’s Immunizations
Children’s vaccines are available daily and are required for school, daycare, and lifelong protection from serious illness. Some may be provided at no cost based on income, insurance, or eligibility through the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
Available vaccines for children include:
- Hepatitis B
- Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis - Whooping Cough)
- Polio
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
Caring for Your Health, Your Body & Your Future
The Health Department offers reproductive health services to support all stages of reproductive life in a confidential, respectful setting.
Family Planning & Contraceptive Services
The clinic helps individuals make informed choices about birth control, pregnancy spacing and routine reproductive health. Services include:
- Physical exams, Pap smears, and clinical breast exams
- Birth control counseling and prescriptions
- A full range of contraceptive methods
- Long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) such as IUDs and implants
Pregnancy Testing & Early Care
Pregnancy testing is available by appointment. If positive, staff provide referrals and encourage early prenatal care to support a healthy pregnancy.
Prenatal Clinic & Maternity Support
Comprehensive prenatal care is available through the Prenatal Clinic. Certified Nurse Midwives and Advanced Practice Providers offer:
- Routine prenatal exams and monitoring
- Childbirth education and delivery planning
- Enrollment help with WIC, Medicaid, and pregnancy care management
- Referrals to specialists when needed
Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening
Screenings are available for eligible individuals through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP), including:
- Pap smears and clinical breast exams
- Referrals for mammograms and colposcopies

The Health Department provides confidential, compassionate sexual health services for all individuals, regardless of income or insurance. Care is delivered in a respectful, nonjudgmental setting, with treatment and education offered in a private and supportive environment.
STI Testing & Treatment
Testing and treatment are available by appointment at no cost for common sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and others.

HIV Testing & Counseling
Free, confidential HIV testing and counseling are available. Results are provided quickly, with follow-up support before and after testing to help individuals understand their results and next steps.

PrEP – HIV Prevention Medication
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a daily medicine that reduces the risk of HIV. It is recommended for people who do not have HIV but may be at higher risk, such as those with HIV-positive partners or individuals who use injection drugs.

Contraceptive Counseling
Services also include contraceptive education and access to birth control options. Staff provide judgment-free counseling tailored to each individual’s needs and lifestyle.

Focused Screenings That Make a Big Difference
Tuberculosis (TB) Services
The Health Department provides testing, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for individuals who may have or have been exposed to tuberculosis (TB). Routine TB skin testing is also available to support early detection and prevention.

Sickle Cell Testing & Counseling
Sickle cell testing may be provided at no cost under certain circumstances. Individuals with a positive result can receive specialized counseling from a regional sickle cell specialist. These services support individuals and families seeking guidance and care following a diagnosis.

Childhood Lead Screening
Blood lead screening is available for children ages 12 months through 5 years to detect lead exposure early. Early identification is essential to prevent long-term developmental and health impacts.
