Grants to Help Combat the Opioid Crisis
The current Letter of Intent cycle opened on December 1, 2025, and closed on January 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. To be considered for funding, applicants must submit before the January 9, 2026, 5:00 p.m. deadline.
As part of the national opioid settlement, Pitt County has signed the North Carolina Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which outlines how settlement funds will be used to combat the opioid crisis. Pitt County will receive approximately $17.9 million over an 18-year period to be spent on strategies listed in Exhibit A of the MOA.
Letter of Intent for Opioid Settlement Fund Grants
Finalists selected through the Letter of Intent process will be invited to submit a full application. To be considered for funding, applicants must complete the Letter of Intent form in full. The County plans to fund multiple projects each fiscal year. Be sure to answer all questions completely when submitting the form.
Eligible Applicants Must:
- Submit proposals that address issues related to the opioid overdose crisis in Pitt County.
- Provide a budget and project timeline if selected to complete the full application.
- Be able to comply with the requirements detailed in the North Carolina Memorandum of Agreement.
