Safe, Reliable, Cost-Effective Transportation
Pitt Area Transit System (PATS) is committed to providing safe, reliable, and affordable transportation that helps eligible residents access medical care and other essential resources, enhancing their quality of life. PATS serves residents who live outside Greenville’s city limits, including Pitt Community College students. With a fleet of 18 vehicles, the system provides more than 60,000 trips each year, covering nearly 575,325 miles.
One-Way Service: $9.00 | Two-Way Service: $18.00
Fares must be paid in full to the driver before boarding. Cash or checks are accepted. Debit and credit cards are not accepted at this time.
Please have the exact fare ready. Drivers do not carry change.

Arranging Transportation with Pitt Area Transit System
All rides must be scheduled at least one business day in advance and may be booked up to 90 days in advance. Seating is limited; availability is not guaranteed. Plan ahead to reserve your seat.
Transportation requests are accepted Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Requests made outside of these hours can not be accommodated.

- Rider(s) name
- Pick-up address
- Destination name and address
- Phone number where you can be reached
- Appointment time
- If an attendant or service animal is riding
(No additional charge, but must be noted for seating) - Type of mobility device being used
- Whether or not oxygen is in use
What to Know About Pickup
- Early pickup may be necessary to ensure on-time arrival.
- Pitt Area Transit System provides curb-to-curb service only.
- Drivers will wait up to five minutes at the scheduled pickup point.
- Please be ready and watching for your ride. PATS will not return for passengers who miss their scheduled pickup.
PATS Service Schedule, Holidays, and Closures
Pitt Area Transit System (PATS) follows Pitt County Government’s official holiday schedule. Bus services do not operate on the holidays listed below.
Service schedules may also change during severe weather or other emergency situations. In these cases, delays or closures are announced as conditions develop. Residents are encouraged to check for updates before traveling.
