Whitehurst Station Waterline Extension Project Public Meeting
Pitt County, in partnership with the Greenville Utilities Commission, will host a public meeting to inform property owners about the upcoming Whitehurst Station Waterline Extension Project on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pitt County Agricultural Center located at 403 Government Circle, Greenville, N.C.
“This project will extend an existing waterline along a 1.9-mile section of Staton Mill Road, providing current residents with access to a reliable public water supply,” says Jonas Hill, Director, Pitt County Planning & Development
Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, the $842,695 project aims to address concerns related to poor water quality, contamination and failing private wells. Approximately 19 property owners in the project area will have the opportunity to connect to the new public water system at no cost.
Representatives from Pitt County and the Greenville Utilities Commission will be present to provide details, answer questions and discuss the project’s construction timeline.
