Pitt County Hosts Half the Price, Twice the Love Adopt-A-Thon
PCAS features half price adoption fees, in August, for pets over one year of age
Pitt County Animal Services (PCAS) will host a month long “Half the Price, Twice the Love” adopt-a-thon at its facility located at 4550 County Home Road, Greenville, N.C.
Shelter cats and dogs over the age of one year are available for half priced fees with no appointments needed.
As of Tuesday, August 5, 2025, there are 41 cats and 67 dogs over the age of one year available for adoption.
During August, adoption fees will be, $48 for cats and $68 for dogs over one year old. Fees cover spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, FIV/FelV testing and deworming.
“Our shelter is reaching capacity, and we urgently need the community’s help,” says Tiffany Peterson, Director, Pitt County Animal Services. “Each adoption opens up space, gives second chances and brings love into a home. If you’ve been considering adoption, there’s no better time than now, score a half price deal and get twice the love in return!”

PCAS will offer flexible scheduling on Thursday evenings during August. On August 7,14, 21 and 28, the shelter will accept adoptions 1:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. Adoption hours are 1:00 pm through 4:00 p.m. on the remaining weekdays.
Peterson continues, “our shelter is filled with irresistibly adorable dogs and cats, all hoping to find a cozy spot in a loving fur-ever home.”
