Pitt County Public Health to Hold Family Health Block Party
Featuring Free Medicine Giveaway with NC Med Assist
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Pitt County Public Health will host the first Family Health Block Party on Saturday, August 23 at the Government Office Complex located at 201 Government Circle, Greenville, NC from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pitt County Health Department has partnered with NC Med Assist to offer a free Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medicine Giveaway for residents. The Family Health Block Party will be a fun event for participants who can receive free OTC medications, learn about Health Department services, and connect with other resources from community partners.
The first 100 people will receive a $10.00 voucher to use for the Ripe for Revival Bus, a mobile market offering fresh and local food items.
“This collaborative effort aims to improve the health of all Pitt County residents, offering free OTC medications and a chance to explore a variety of health services and programs available in the community,” says Wes Gray, Public Health Director.
Activities offered at the Family Health Block Party include:
- Free OTC medicines
- Ripe for Revival mobile market
- Health screenings
- Food giveaway from The Food Bank of Eastern NC
- Children's vaccine record checks
- Breastfeeding awareness celebration
- Free baby items & clothing giveaway
- Food trucks & children’s activities
- Children’s and family health resources
This free event will give community members an opportunity to see the Health Department’s mission in action while connecting with resources that can empower individuals and families.
